Økologisk Gris

Organic animal material

It will be written about the possibility of phasing out conventional animals (pigs, cattle and possibly sheep) by removing the exemption clause, on assignment from The Advisory Committee for Organic Farming Regulations.

The aim is to obtain an overview of what consequences and opportunities a requirement for phasing out the exemption for the use of conventional animals in organic pig, cattle and possibly sheep production will have. The need for organic animal material with today’s production volume will be mapped. The need by different scenarios for increased production will be considered. It will also be considered whether there is a need for a separate organization or commitment to meet the need for organic animal material.
