School Garden

The school garden at NORSØK enables local primary school pupils to learn about how to sustainably grow food crops.

NORSØK has maintained its school garden for a number of years. The garden is used as an arena for teaching primary school pupils as well as for training teachers and preschool staff. In the garden, pupils learn about ecological cycles, ecosystems and sustainable diets based on local resources. The students become acquainted with a diversity of crops, following many of them from seed to plate. As part of the school garden project, we write articles and fact sheets with teaching tips as an inspiration for school gardens throughout Norway. In addition, we arrange courses and seminars.
